I’d like to dispel a misconception that to this day continues to infiltrate the spiritual community…
It’s this apparent contradiction between spiritual well-being and financial well-being.
Folks, it’s a FALSE DICHOTOMY and it’s causing a lot of unnecessary suffering.
This feeling that material goods and financial well-being are somehow opposed to spirituality is why so many beautiful, well-meaning folks on the spiritual path tend to be poor and have money issues.
There is this belief running rampant that to be spiritual you have to renounce material goods and material well being.
Nothing could be further from the truth!
NEWS FLASH: There is no inherent spirituality in being poor OR in being wealthy!
Sure, being ATTACHED to your desire for material goods and wealth can block you.
But then, being attached to ANYTHING can block you!
That means that if you’re attached to being poor and suffering, because you believe that will make you more spiritual…THAT TOO is a block to real spiritual growth.
Then of course, this belief about how the spiritual world and the material world may or may not fit together can be challenging when you’re looking at a reality filled with economic turmoil all around you.
But, it’s important to recognize that even in so-called ‘tough times’, many people do well.
So, how do you account for that?
Here’s the thing…you are at CHOICE. It’s your CHOICE whether you want to live in a world of stress and struggle or live in a world of abundance and well-being!
This ability to choose your world means letting go of your limiting belief systems around spirituality and financial well-being.
I know, I know!
This can be a big challenge for many who are on a spiritual path.
But it doesn’t have to be that way!
The truth is that the Universe is abundant and we can all enjoy abundance.
If you can step into a new way of thinking and a new way of looking at your problems, this new awareness can be a wonderful force to move you forward on your path both spiritually and financially!
So what are the “rules” of the game when it comes to spirituality and money?
First of all, we came forward to play at being a human being here on Earth.
And being a human being means that we are both spiritual beings AND physical beings.
And material goods and money are certainly part of being a physical being!
So there is no inherent superiority in either being poor or in being rich.
And there are certain ways I choose to manifest money and material goods.
For example, I find that coming from my True Self or Soul’s perspective, being honest and ethical in my dealings with people and coming from service, puts my physical
Conscious Self in alignment with my Spiritual Self.
So that is the type of behavior I choose to practice in my business dealings and in how I make my living and make a difference.
There are many who will say that the world is going through a period of intense greed and dishonest behavior that negatively affects our own ability to be prosperous.
And yet, we have an opportunity to acknowledge a different reality moving forward.
We can choose to be much more open and much more responsive to behavior where we factor in the good of others in our experience and what we do.
Choosing to integrate our own good with the good of others is going to be a more positive path that leads to more abundance all around.
Anytime you find yourself in what could be seen as turbulent economic times, it is actually a tremendous time of opportunity.
So don’t get caught up in the anxiety and the fear that is spread by the media (or maybe even by friends and family).
Understand that we don’t have to live in the mentality of scarcity.
We can live with the mentality of well-being and abundance for all.
In that case, the “rules” of the game for spirituality and money become:
Do what you love
Live from your Soul’s perspective for the highest good of all
Be aware of the good that you can do for yourself and others
Know that there is abundance and prosperity for everyone…
Now we have a Game of Life worth playing!
