Law of Attraction CoachProcrastination is one of the worst enemies of momentum. If you’re a procrastinator, you probably lack enthusiasm in your life and remain stuck on the launching pad of success because you just can’t muster up enough momentum to keep the dream alive.

There is only one way to overcome procrastination –begin. No matter what your goal or cause in life, procrastination brings it to a standstill and defeats all your thoughts, ideas and hopes for your life’s success.

When you procrastinate, you lack motivation. You may be afraid of moving ahead because you fear failure, criticism or you may seriously doubt yourself. Lack of self-confidence can undermine any and all momentum which could get you moving and off the launching pad.

Overcome procrastination by creating momentum in the following ways:

Ask yourself why this project (or life change) is important to you. When you gain clarity and focus on why you need to move forward, procrastination becomes less of a problem.

Visualize success. Without a vision of the success you desire, you’ll continue to procrastinate and let life and momentum die down or pass you by. When you envision success, create a picture of details in your mind about what it actually looks like and how you’ll feel.

Begin with one small step. Just like the first man on the moon began with one small step for mankind, the first small step you take toward completing your goal will begin to gather momentum for the rest of your life and lead you toward the success you envisioned.

Don’t let the enormity of the process overwhelm you. Beginning with a small step helps you to focus on that step only and move slowly toward the finish line. As you move, you’ll begin to gather even more momentum and move faster –and faster. What matters most in overcoming procrastination is action. It will do more to raise your enthusiasm and help you create a desire to do more and more until the goal is finally reached.

You’ll be amazed at the changes when you engage yourself in one small action after another to move down the path of success. Your emotions will be more geared toward completing the goal against all odds rather than giving up on something you’ve already worked so hard to achieve.

Dale Carnegie, famous author and leader said about defeating procrastination: Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.”
