Law of Attraction CoachProblems are generally considered to be ‘bad things’ but actually that doesn’t always have to be the case. A problem at work, in your relationship, or with your finances is going to be bad news yes – but some people thrive on problem solving and if you’re that kind of person then they can actually be very rewarding and exciting. Read on and we’ll look at some great activities for people who love to solve problems. These will not only help you to get that satisfied feeling that comes from working out solutions but they will also give you the opportunity to flex your grey matter and to practice those skills so that future problems become easier to tackle.

Rubik’s Cubes

Rubik’s cubes are one of the best mental challenges out there for those who love problem solving. While they might seem impenetrable at first, these is in fact a simple logic to them and a ‘system’ that you can use. Once you’re familiar with the system, the challenge becomes much easier – but that’s when you start challenging yourself to solve them faster, with your eyes closed or with one hand!

Ambigrams

An ambigram is a word that reads the same way upside down, or that says something else upside down. You could make an ambigram of your own name for instance and this might say your first name when it was one way around and your second name when flipped over. This requires a bit of ingenious thinking but you’d be surprised what’s possible with enough trial and error.

Computer Games

Computer games have been shown in studies to actually help improve problem solving ability. Action games can help our ‘rapid problem solving’ while puzzle games are great for encouraging lateral thinking.

Chess

The great thing about chess is that it involves both problem solving and thinking ahead and can is a dynamic and constantly evolving challenge. The difficulty in chess is only ever the same as the cunning of your opponent – and that means that you can try it no matter your level.

Programming

There is something immensely satisfying about starting with a blank page and ending up with a functional program that you can use for productivity or fun. Programming involves numerous logic problems and in many cases essentially boils down to a number of puzzles that you need to solve.
