All the amazing coaches, healers, holistic practitioners and spiritual entrepreneurs I know are passionate about making a positive impact in the world.
But there is something that’s kept many of them from getting themselves out there in the way they’ve intended.
Heck, I’ve fallen into this trap myself in the past.
And that is…
…taking advice and counsel from others that does not align with your own Spirit and values.
It actually hurts your business when you do that.
There are thousands of incredible books, blogs, seminars, workshops and programs on how to build a successful business.
And yes! It is tempting to sign up for a lot of different programs. (Ask me how I know!)
But if you’re not experiencing the success you know is possible, it’s not that the program saren’t good, it’s more likely that their methods or advice is out of alignment with your Spirit and who you are at your core.
What works well for one person may not work for another, especially if your intentions and values are different.
You are not just another person. Your purpose, passions, gifts and preferences are unique to you.
So doesn’t it make sense that your path to building your business would need to be equally unique?
If so, it has probably become clear to you that the ‘cookie-cutter’ ‘one size fits all’ approach doesn’t work for you.
That’s because you are not a cookie!
YOU ARE UNIQUE!
Your biggest challenge isn’t getting others to see just how valuable your services really are. (Even though the folks I have had the privilege of speaking to and working with give incredible value. They are changing lives!)
And it isn’t building your list or prioritizing your product or service creation or choosing your niche…although these are certainly different elements of your business.
If you’ve tried implementing all the great advice from business-building experts and it’s not working for you…
There’s a critical missing piece in your business that will make a huge difference:
in how successful you will be,
how many clients you’ll attract (and how efficiently you’ll attract them),
the impact you’ll have and
the amount of money you’ll make.
It is overlooked, downplayed and brushed aside by many…and I believe it’s the most important part of our businesses (and lives).
That critical missing piece is your Inner Guidance.
YOUR INNER GUIDANCE IS ESSENTIAL TO YOUR SUCCESS.
When you don’t use your Inner Guidance for making decisions in your business, but you rely solely on outside circumstances, fears or other limiting decision-making processes, then you are ignoring a deep core part of yourself.
For example:
If you’re busy taking action to get clients and they aren’t showing up, you decide maybe this isn’t what you were meant to do in your life after all.
If you’re spending 14 hours a day doing things in your business you don’t enjoy doing or even worse that feels out of integrity, you decide having a business is way too hard and it certainly isn’t fun…
If you’ve plateaued in your business, and can’t seem to get beyond a certain level, you decide that you must not have what it takes to create a 6-figure business or whatever your magic number is.
Or if you have a 7-figure business and you’re struggling with overwhelm, you decide it’s impossible to maintain and you have nothing more to give.
These are decisions you made to take the actions you’ve taken – and yet they are taken out of fear or just from not knowing better.
In all cases, they are out of alignment with your Spirit and values – and that limiting belief driving your decisions is not coming from your Truth.
Here is a perfect example of what I’m talking about:
For the sake of privacy, I’ll call this person Rhonda.
Rhonda shared with me that after years of hard work and dedication, she finally grew her company to seven figures. And she was ready to bring a partner into the business to take it to the next level.
Being the meticulous, detail-oriented person that she is, Rhonda painstakingly did her due diligence. She hired an attorney. She had letters of intent drawn up to protect everyone’s rights and responsibilities. And she did it slowly and methodically.
From the outside looking in, you’d say she’d done all the ‘right’ things. And when the day came for Rhonda to take on her new business partner, she said throughout the entire process, something felt off to her. She just couldn’t put her finger on it.
However, she’d already made the decision to take on this business partner, so she chalked it off to her imagination and plowed ahead.
So what the heck was nagging at her? She said she figured she’d been so used to running her business by herself for so long, that that must be what the unfamiliar feeling was.
Turns out, that wasn’t what it was at all.
It was her Inner Guidance letting her know the decision she was making was not the right decision for her.
But because she’d done everything by the book, checked and double checked all the data, she dismissed her Guidance as inconsequential and overrode what was in her heart with her head.
How often have you done that in your own life? I don’t even want to think of how often I’ve done it to myself!
We’ve all had those gut feelings when making big decisions. But because there is no way to qualify what we’re feeling, like Rhonda, we may dismiss it.
And when Rhonda got ready to sell her business, she was devastated to discover the business she’d poured her heart and soul into developing into a 7-figure business was now absolutely worthless, due to underhanded actions of her business partner.
After we started working together, she told me she could see what the outcome would have been had she just stopped and employed the principles I teach on accessing Inner Guidance for just ten minutes
Ten minutes could have meant a seven-figure success story instead of a seven-figure mistake!
So my message is this:
Your Inner Guidance is as important, if not more important for making decisions in your business as running the numbers and analyzing data. You need both!
When it comes to important business decisions and taking action, if you aren’t stopping to get direct Guidance, you may find yourself paralyzed with procrastination, self-doubt and second guessing.
This is why it’s so important to really learn how to access, trust and act on your Inner Guidance.
Because it’s not what decision you make, it’s where your decision comes from.
Every decision you make moves you closer to your truth or moves you away from it.
When you use your Inner Guidance as your Guiding Light, you come from a place of clear intentions, and from that space you’re guided to the best possible decisions and the inspiration to act on them.
You can decide to look to your Inner Guidance or you can decide to listen to your Gremlins (that critical inner voice that says things like “Who do you think you are to be able to make a success of this?”)
It’s up to you to choose your Inner Guidance over your Gremlin.
You will definitely have a different experience depending on what you decide!
