How incredible our lives would be if we all knew the power of our attention and intention!
A certain universal truth flows through all our lives.
It crosses all cultures and is at work irrespective of personal history. What is this truth?
Whatever we put our attention on grows.
Whatever we focus on is what we attract.
This is called the Law of Attraction.
How does this translate into our everyday lives?
It actually makes us the creators of every detail of life.
Positive thoughts arising from positive emotions produce positive results.
For instance, if we genuinely believe that we are meant to be prosperous and successful, if we expect this and feel and know that we deserve it, then we will attract the circumstances that create both abundance and success.
If, on the other hand, we are not sure what we want, if we feel undeserving, if we think and feel that prosperity is not possible, our doubts will manifest as failures and difficulties.
Limited belief systems will attract or manifest confusion and limited results no matter how hard we work.
For some readers, this may sound too simple, or too good to be true. In fact, you may be tempted to raise an obvious question.
What if you are an optimist working in an environment full of pessimists?
What if you are a dynamic, confident person working in a company where many people are defeatist and/or blame their failures on everything but their own behavior?
How will your constructive attitude fare in a collective atmosphere of negativity?
If energy follows thoughts, will your upbeat, creative thoughts be swamped by the low morale of most of the people around you?
This question has a wonderful resolution.
Another universal truth comes into play here.
The power of one person connected to Source is greater than millions who are not.
Moreover, a few creative, “connected,” buoyant people can transform the culture of an entire company, especially if they are in positions of leadership.
The power of the few to transform the many is actually observed in the laws of physics.
If only the square root of one percent of the elements in a physical system become coherent, the whole system will be pulled into coherence.
This is actually how powerful phenomena such as laser beams are produced.
Many years ago, I experienced a convincing demonstration of how one, thoroughly confident leader can turn a whole company around.
A number of years ago, I worked for a startup company that needed increased funding to really take off.
We struggled for five years to find investors to help us meet our potential.
As employees became discouraged, their collective thoughts and feelings focused on lack and need, which is exactly what the company then attracted.
I decided to apply the up side of the Law of Attraction by boosting creativity and expanding possibilities.
I introduced a focus on success by asking each department what it would do if it suddenly had $10,000 to play with.
The process went like this. On Day 1, $10,000 was deposited into an imaginary Prosperity Account and everyone in the company was asked to post to the Prosperity Account spreadsheet how the funds would get spent.
Each day the account was increased by an additional $1,000. So $11,000 was deposited on Day Two, $12,000 on Day Three, etc.
After a bit, I was surprised to see how generous people were being.
Since there was no fear of the funds dwindling, department members were making purchases for other departments besides their own.
The money in our imaginary Prosperity Account was flowing and we were actually having some fun, for the first time in a long while.
The goal of the game was to get our focus on something that felt better than where it had been for a very long time.
It worked. Overall, the company energy shifted and many of us began to look forward to coming to work again.
This simple tactic produced an amazing wave of creativity, mutual support and feelings of abundance.
Within nine months of this collective shift, a buyer for the company simply appeared and we enjoyed the abundance we deserved.
I find it thrilling to know that when I change, the benefits flow to others as well as through my own life.
My fulfillment feeds your fulfillment and yours feeds mine.
We really can transform not only our own lives but also this whole wonderful planet, simply by knowing that we create our own reality with our thoughts and feelings.
